Hurricane Valley Choir
The Hurricane Valley Choir is open to all singers high school age and older, and provides a wonderful community choir experience. Come and join us!
Rehearsals for the Christmas Season will begin on September 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Hurricane Community Center. All interested singers are invited to participate. The Christmas concert will be held on December 15th with June Jeffery directing.
Choir Membership:
Cost: Each singer purchases their music ($20.00) for each concert performance. At the end of each semester, members may either donate their music back to the group or keep it. Weekly rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the HVAA room in the Hurricane Community Center (formerly the Hurricane Elementary School).
History: The Hurricane Valley Choir was created in October of 2007 by the Arts Alliance (formerly the Art Crusade) to offer the opportunity for area singers (high school-adult) to participate in a community choir. Their premier performance was held on February 2, 2008 at the “Gala Night for the Arts” (also the Arts Alliance's first sponsored event). The choir sings a wide variety of choral literature including Spirituals, Musical Theater, Sacred, Secular, Jazz and Folk music.
